Activity
This research is focussed on geology, geochemistry, petrology and geochronology of metamorphic and mantle rocks from distinct geodynamic settings in order to define the P-T-t conditions at which these rocks re-equilibrated. The aim is to characterize and understand the relevant metamorphic processes occurring during rifting, subduction, collision and exhumation. The studied localities are: central-western Alps (Italy-France), the Dabie-Sulu orogen (China), the Ethiopian plateau and the Canary islands.
(a) Photomicrograph of an harzburgitic xenolith consisting of distinct generations of olivine (Ethiopian plateau); (b) catodoluminescenze image of a zoned dolomite within a two carbonate UHP marble (Dora-Maira Internal Crystalline Massif); (c) variscan P-T-t path of the Gesso-Stura terrain (Argentera External Crystalline Massif).
Key-words: metamorphic evolution, tectono-thermal evolution, convergent and divergent margins.
